The point is that Anet has a machanism in place, which on certain occassions can reset options you choose such as the hard setting. This means it needs fixed. If you choose hard mode, it should stay on hard mode for our entire time playing until you sign off.
A "set my character to hard mode" tick box might solve that.
But at the minute you could enter a team and be reset back to normal mode and yes you can just tick it back. But its doesnt alway register to do so.

There is nothing to fix... It works the way it's supposed to work. You have to click the HM helmet just as if you would need to click your 1st skill to activate it.

Are your skills automatically reset back to an unwanted selection/state when ever you leave a certain PUG or re-enter a certain instance?

Smart ass. You're asking for something totally pointless, just because you keep forgetting to click the damn button. This is just stupid how you're going on about it, and it's even more stupid for me to keep reacting :l
And gg at making up that last reply, makes as much sense as it would to implement this HM thingy.

Nope. Its just most any other circumstance such as joining a NM party for a while is a logical and expected switch away from HM. Makes sense that you would leave that group at some point and be still in NM, even though sure, I'd like it to default me back to HM, but that isnt necessary.
My main problem with HM is Guild Hall. It makes no sense that going there quick for storage or any other reason while in HM, and preparing a HM venture, kicks you out of HM. Its all too easy to not notice this and forget, despite I dont know how many times I have done it.
I personally think its a really easy fix to simply make GH not change your mode setting at all. Hard for anyone to complain about that and it makes perfect sense. A "keep me in HM whenever possible" check box in Options is going a bit further to solve basically the same thing, though upon leaving a NM party you would find yourself back in HM. Nice, but its the darn GH underhanded switch that annoys me and its done for no reason I can think of.

I was searching for a party for hard mode for tahnaki temple but found out it was a normal mode party so I left and took henchies and heroes by the time I got up to the room with Vizu's construct I noticed I wasn't even in hard mode.

So you didn't realize the absence of a giant red or golden helmet in the corner of your screen to notify you of being in hard mode? Sometimes I enter an explorable area and suddenly wonder whether I clicked the HM option...then I look at the screen and I get my answer in one second flat.
As for the actual suggestion, it's completely pointless. I mean...if people can't click a few buttons or actually look at their screen then no amount of updates will ever help.

You do realise the entire point of software and technology is to make our lives easier. Do you use an ATM to get cash out instead of going to the desk in the bank? Do you use a remote to change the channel instead of pushing the button on the tv? Do you get a bus to go to your local shops instead of walking?
So your not a lazey player! Do you walk everywhere ingame or do you teleport from outpost to outpost?
You cant take the "thats just lazey" stance, unless you have never once done anything ingame the easy way!

It's just a matter of keeping in mind to push the HM Button.
Selfish reason: of course, I would be the one happily wondering of into a mission or explorable area in HM while I wanted NM....

Useless suggestion. Even though I forget to enter HM sometimes before zoning, the process of noticing that I'm in NM, zoning back into the outpost, activating HM and zoning into the explorable again takes less than 30 seconds.

Cant be more than an hour of someone's time to simply stop GH from changing your mode to NM. No reason for it to do that and it doesnt interfere with anyone's work day at Anet one bit. I still support that little tweak.

Another in a long line of pointless ideas in this forum. You're about to enter a mission or step out into an instance, take that extra fraction of a second to glance at the indicator.
